OVER – Band indie pop-rock

“È tutto ciò che non siamo. Musica Indie Pop Rock (o quello che ci viene di fare) per chi non ha paura di perdersi, per trovarsi davvero.”

Gli “OveR” (originariamente “Over The Wall”) sono una band indie pop-rock che suona da diversi anni in locali e manifestazioni a Lecco e in Brianza, tra cui figurano il “Bloom” di Mezzago e il “Lecco Pride” 2021 e 2022. Negli anni hanno ricevuto alcuni riconoscimenti sia a livello locale (la vittoria del “Giugarock contest” 2019 di Lecco e del “Contaminazioni contest” 2019 di Morbegno), sia a livello nazionale (l’accesso alle finali del Sanremo Rock&Trend Festival 2020).
Ciò che caratterizza la loro proposta è una certa eterogeneità, attraverso la quale aspirano a trovare una non facile sintesi tra tradizione e modernità, tra ricercatezza e immediatezza del linguaggio. La ricerca di un’identità forte e originale è un tema importante per gli OveR, motivo per cui, aldilà di alcuni “pilastri” che ​caratterizzano la loro musica (il connubio tra chitarra elettrica e acustica, tra la voce femminile e maschile, la dinamicità della struttura ritmica delle canzoni) sono da sempre stati aperti ad un costante rinnovamento.

PROFILO SPOTIFY

D’altra parte, la formazione è cambiata negli anni: al nucleo originario formato da Martina Greppi (cantante), Filippo Gualtieri (chitarrista) e Simone Frassoni (chitarrista e cantante), si è aggiunto in un secondo momento Christian Mazza (batterista). L’attuale esito di questo percorso è racchiuso nel loro primo album, “Tutto qui”, che segue la pubblicazione dei tre singoli “Le Tue Prigioni”, “Siamo e Basta” e “La Valutazione”. Una scelta importante della band è stata quella di pubblicare le tracce separatamente, per valorizzare ogni brano. Al momento, i pezzi pubblicati sono “Euphoria”, “Italiano en Madrid”, “Tu Non Sei”, “La mia Città”, “Riflesso” e “Zona Rossa”.

Gli OveR (Martina Greppi, Simone Frassoni, Filippo Gualtieri, Christian Mazza) sono una band Indie Pop- Rock di Lecco. Ciò che caratterizza il loro sound è una certa eterogeneità che mira ad equilibrare tradizione e modernità, ricercatezza e immediatezza. Il loro percorso musicale, alla ricerca della propria identità, è racchiuso nel loro primo album, non casualmente chiamato “Tutto qui”.

Cosa vi ha spinto a fare i cantanti/Artisti?

Siamo un gruppo di 4 ragazzi che, spinti da una grande passione, si sono ritrovati a condividere un progetto. Più che una passione, forse, la musica è per noi un bisogno di dare voce alle emozioni più difficili da esprimere nella nostra quotidianità.

Quali sono i lati positivi nell’essere cantante?

Fare musica ci offre la possibilità di esprimerci come probabilmente non sapremmo fare in altri modi, ci permette di mantenere vivo il contatto che abbiamo costruito con i nostri ascoltatori.

Come vi concentrate prima di cantare?

Prima di un concerto, non può mancare una bella mangiata! Poi naturalmente accordature varie ed esercizi per scaldare la voce al meglio.

A chi vi siete ispirati ?

Ultimamente ci piace ispirarci ad artisti Pop come i Pinguini Tattici Nucleari e gli Eugenio in Via Di Gioia oppure ad artisti del panorama Indie come Coez e Gazzelle.

Parlateci del vostro ultimo progetto

Il nostro ultimo progetto si chiama “Zona Rossa” ed è la penultima canzone del nostro primo album “Tutto qui”. Il brano parla di una storia d’amore dove il fuoco della passione è però destinato ad essere pericoloso.

 Ci sono tanti ragazzi e ragazze che sognano di diventare cantanti. Che consigli dareste?

Un consiglio che possiamo dare potrebbe essere quello di perseverare, di non smettere di studiare e lavorare sodo per migliorarsi giorno dopo giorno.

 Chi vi ha supportato o ostacolato nel vostro percorso ?

Il supporto dei nostri fans e delle persone con cui abbiamo collaborato negli anni è sempre stato molto prezioso. Le nostre famiglie e i nostri amici, in particolare, sono sempre al nostro fianco.

 Perché il pubblico dovrebbe ascoltarvi ?

La nostra speranza è che il pubblico ci ascolti per ritrovarsi nelle nostre canzoni. La musica è condivisione e ci auguriamo che qualcuno possa riconoscersi nei nostri testi e possa sentirsi parte di qualcosa.

I vostri hobby/interessi al di là della musica ?

Aldilà del nostro progetto musicale, veniamo da ambienti e formazioni completamente diversi. Io, Martina, sono laureata in Agrotecnologie. Simone sta avviando la sua professione come psicologo. Filippo sarà a breve ingegnere del suono. Christian ha quasi terminato gli studi al NAM e vorrebbe insegnare batteria a tempo pieno.

Quali sono i lati negativi nell’essere cantante?

Non è tutto oro quel che luccica. Spesso rimaniamo imbottigliati in mille questioni tecniche e burocratiche che rallentano molto il nostro lavoro. Sarebbe bello poter avere più tempo da dedicare al nostro progetto. La musica ha inoltre il potere di farci sentire a volte molto vulnerabili nel mostrare le nostre emozioni.

Come vi concentrate per scrivere un brano?

Siamo principalmente in 3 a comporre. Io mi lascio ispirare da ciò che sento e le parole spesso fluiscono da sole, solo successivamente mi metto alla tastiera e cerco di strutturare un qualcosa che possa stare in piedi. Simone e Filippo partono invece dallo strumento, magari da un giro di accordi, e si lasciano trasportare dalla melodia. Una volta trovato lo “scheletro” del brano ci lavoriamo insieme in sala prove e con il nostro produttore Stefano Fumagalli.

Cosa non dovrebbe mai fare un giovane Artista ?

Un giovane artista non dovrebbe cercare scorciatoie. Purtroppo o per fortuna, la gavetta ti permette di crescere sia artisticamente che umanamente.

Come migliorereste la scena Musicale ?

La scena musicale attuale è satura. Forse si dovrebbe lasciare spazio a chi fa musica per passione, prima che per la smania di successo.
